Sónar 2022: general information

Sónar is an international festival based in Barcelona that has been held for no less than 26 editions, since it was founded in 1994.

This festival offers electronic and experimental music, and presents it in an urban and avant-garde format. It should also be noted that Sónar is a festival that since its inception has had a great impact on the city of Barcelona.

The festival takes place in two stages:Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night. Sónar by Day is held at the facilities ofFira de Montjuïc, while Sónar by Night takes place at the Fira Gran Via venue.

And besides, not only will you be able to enjoy its musical program, but you will also have the opportunity to learn about the latest in art and technology, because Sónar also offers an extensive program of activities parallel to the concerts and sessions.

Artists such as Dellafuente, Stormzy, Bad Bunny, Four Tet, Holly Herndon, Arca, Amelie Lens, DJ Koze, Bad Gyal, Underworld, Dixon or Max Cooper are some of the many who have passed through the stages of Sónar.

The 2020 and 2021 editions could not be held due to the conditions imposed by the pandemic, but Sónar is scheduled to return to Barcelona on June 16,17 and 18, 2022. Are you going to miss it?

Sónar has as its main venue the city of Barcelona. As the festival is divided in two, Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night, it has two venues where the shows take place:Fira de Montjuïc and Fira de Gran Vía.

How to get to Sónar

To get to the Sónar 2022 venue, you have the following options:

Plane. The nearest airport is the Prat Airport, Barcelona, which is only 12 kilometers away from Fira de Montjuïc. Once there, the best option would be to take the A1 (which departs from the airport's T1) towards Andana Central and get off at Plaza España (about 2 minutes walk from the venue).
Train. The best option would be to take a train from your city to Barcelona. Once there, the best option is to take the metro at Arc de Triomf and get off at Plaza España.
By car. This is always the most comfortable and flexible option, but you can also find other options such as a carpool or a rental car if you don't have your own.
