Prague Spring Festival
Pražské jaro, or Spring Festival, is a music festival that has been held every year since 1946 in Prague. This event usually takes place around the month of May and the opening concert is held in the Smetana Hall.
This event tries to bring together in each of its editions the best performers, symphony orchestras and chamber music groups in the world. In addition, its concerts are distributed in different places of the city such as: Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum, the Academy of Music, the Prague Conservatory, the National Theatre or the Wallenstein Palace Gardens, among others.
It should be noted that this festival also gives some importance to young performers as part of the festival holds an international competition. Mstislav Rostropovich, Natalia Gutman, Dagmar Pecková or Štefan Margita, are some of the performers who have participated in this competition.
