Storyland Music Festival
One of the best music festivals in Colombia and, in general, in Latin America, is the Storyland Music Festival. This festival focuses on electronic and dance music, positioning itself as the festival of reference in these genres.
It is held in the city of Santa Marta, specifically in the coastal area, on the beach of Bello Horizonte. However, other years it has been held in the city of Cartagena.
Storyland Festival has had names like Hardwell, Deorro, Agents of Time, Tiesto, Nicky Romero or Oliver Heldens on its stages.
The festival stands out for its elaborate scenography, its facilities and sound equipment. This makes attending the festival a unique experience.
Estéreo Picnic
Another of the best festivals in Colombia is Estéreo Picnic. It focuses on alternative, pop, rock and electronic music. It was born in 2010 and, year after year it has been growing. Since 2019 it has been held at the Briceño Club, but previously it was held in the Sabana of Bogota.
It is characterized by having a style similar to other festivals such as Lollapalooza or Coachella, as it offers many entertainment options, as well as food trucks or ample space to interact with other attendees.
In the 2022 edition, it has counted with great international and national names. Among them we find J Balvin, The Strokes, C. Tangana, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Nicki Nicole, Nina Kravitz or Phoebe Bridgers. Foo Fighters were also confirmed to attend, but had to cancel their performance at the last minute due to the death of the band's drummer.
Other editions have featured artists such as Guns'n'Roses, The Chemical Brothers, Cage The Elephant, Charli XCX, Arctic Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots, The 1975 and The Killers, among many other internationally renowned artists.
La Solar Festival
Undoubtedly, one of the best festivals in Colombia is La Solar Festival. This festival focuses on trap, electronic and reggaeton music. It is held in the city of Medellin, more specifically in the Parque Norte.
The festival is characterized by an eclectic environment, where the sun is the main protagonist. For that reason the concerts of the festival begin to take place during the sunset, until the night comes in.
In 2022 they had a great line-up. They have not wanted to miss this event recognized artists such as Rauw Alejandro, Feid, Tainy, Meduza, Ñengo Flow, Aron or The Martinez Brothers.
Other years there have been artists such as Sofi Tukker, Paloma Mami, Khea, Rels B, Lost Frequencies, Sech, Alesso or J Balvin. In the festival grounds there are a large number of attractions and gastronomic offerings. In this way, attendees can enjoy this event to the fullest.
Jamming Festival
Among the best music festivals in Colombia we find Jamming Festival. This was born in 2012 and, although it originally focused on reggae music, Afro rhythms and the spirit of"One Love", it currently welcomes artists from other genres, thus expanding its lineup and expansion.
It has been held in different cities. It started being held in Bogota, but the 2018 and 2021 editions were held in Ricaurte. This year's 2022 edition was to be held in Ibagué, but ended up being canceled by the organizers.
Previous editions have featured artists such as Green Valley, Damian Marley, Nach, Sean Paul, Born Jamericans, Seeed, ChocQuibTown, Bomba Estéreo or Residente.
Rock al Parque
One of the best and most authentic music festivals in Colombia is Rock al Parque. This is an international rock festival that was born in 1994. It is held in the city of Bogota and one of the factors that characterizes this festival is that it is free.
This makes it the largest and most important free outdoor festival in Latin America and, in turn, the third largest in the world. The origin is as authentic as the festival itself, since it began thanks to the Youth Music Encounters that took place in the city's planetarium.
Music is not the only element offered by the Rock al Parque festival. Workshops, seminars, master classes and conferences are also organized. Originally, as its name suggests, the festival focused on the rock genre. However, it has now been opening its doors to other genres, such as punk, ska, reggae and blues.
If you are not too much of a rock fan, the good news is that this festival also has versions in other genres. Rock al Parque's "cousins" are Hip Hop al Parque and Jazz al Parque.
Baum Festival
To close the list of the best festivals in Colombia, Baum could not be missing. If your favorite music genre is electronic, you're in luck! Because since 2015 the Baum festival is celebrated in Bogota.
This festival lasts only one night, but it will be a night of unparalleled massive rave, with thousands of attendees. This 2022, however, the festival is extended one more night. You no longer have an excuse not to attend!
